Byte-Size CS Blog - TUESDAY
Did you know that Nevada has its own set of academic content standards for K-12 computer science AND a career and technical education (CTE) Advanced Computer Science pathway for HS?
Since #CSEverywhere, it makes sense that CS is found in every other core subject too. Explore some resources below.
English Language Arts: myON reader has great books to read about CS. Here are a few (with grade levels) - The First Computers (2nd), How Do Cars Drive Themselves? (3rd), The History of Computers (4th), The History of Telecommunications (5th), Computer Programming, Learn It, Try it (6th), The Impact of Technology in Music (MS/HS), The Science of Soldiers (MS/HS). Additionally: Robots on the Job and My First Guide to Robots are fun to explore.
Math | Science | Social Studies | Career Clusters - Computer Science is connected to each of these subjects and is changing everything around us. These CS Connections lessons can be used with students to explore ways that CS is changing medicine, energy, public safety, art, entertainment, fashion, agriculture, and a host of other areas. Read about CS Heroes such as Anielle Guedes from Italy who 3D prints construction materials from recycled goods to create buildings and infrastructure. Happy Computing!!
